If you found your way here chances are that you knew one of the boys or both. For those that did not have a chance to come to know and love either of the boys let me try to explain the purpose of this site.

On August 20th 2004 there was a tragic accident in our small town. It was something that has devastated so many. But none so much as the Bythrow and Hepler Families.

The boys were out enjoying a summer night and they had a fatal car accident. When we are so young we don't realize just how many lives we effect and touch. Both boys were the young age of 19. Suddenly they were gone. As news spread of the accident we saw our community reaching out in shock and disbelief. We knew it wasn't true this really didn't happen, but it was true it did happen... the days and weeks that followed can not even be put into words. Both boys had a group of friends that throughout their growing up years crossed tracks now and again. This young group of boys, held each other, consoled each other, cried with each other and learned with each other how to cope with the death of a loved one. For yes both Matthew and Michael were truly loved.

Watching these boys go through this was so very hard for us all. Watching the families deal with their pain and loss was even harder. Realizing that the boys were gone is something to this day I don't really think any of us has truly accepted.

This site was started in their memory. A scholarship fund has been set up in both boys names. This is our way of trying to help these funds grow... In loving Memory of Matthew and Michael.
